YOUR ROLE

This is a Maternity Leave Assignment, and we anticipate this will be for approximately 14 months.  The primary function the timely, complete, and accurate preparation of tax calculations and tax income returns for all group entities including preparation of all tax journals and tax effect accounting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation and lodgement of all income tax returns in Australia and NZ within ATO and NZ Inland Revenue lodgement dates
• Transfer Pricing documentation in support of the International Dealings Schedule and the local file a and b in the tax return and country by country reporting
• Preparation of Thin capitalisation calculations
• Preparation of all tax calculations and tax journals
• Preparation of all group tax disclosures, including tax effect accounting, as per Bunzl timetable
• Preparation and lodgement of payroll tax, withholding tax and Employee Share Scheme returns
• Facilitation of audit with the external auditors, and liaise with Bunzl plc Group Tax as necessary re all taxation related issues

The other essentials we are looking for:

• Minimum of tertiary education and accounting qualification (CA or CPA).
• Extensive large corporate taxation experience ideally gained in one of the Big 4 audit firms
• Experience in preparing Australian tax returns for large Australian tax entities with foreign subsidiaries
• Experience in preparing NZ tax returns for small NZ entities
• Absolute ability to work independently with a minimum of support
• Good clear communication is critical
• Strong Technical Tax Legislation experience and attention to detail
