The event attracted more than 70 riders who travelled from as far Sydney and two hours south of the Queensland border.
Zone Six Endurance Riders Club member and NSW Committee member Mary Lou Locke said fresh faces competed in this year’s event.
“It is something you can get hooked on,” Mrs Locke, who has been riding horses for more than 20 years said.
“There is a lot of potential for more riders in the area.”
Two riders shared the accolades at the end of the 80km trek.
Ian Hills, from Nelson Bay, and Renee Schneider, from Pacific Palms, placed equal first.
The endurance ride started at 5.30am on Sunday and competitors set off for 40km on a marked trial through the private property to the Maria River National Park and forestry.
At the halfway mark, riders returned for a compulsory rest and vet check before completing the second leg of the ride.
A number of volunteers helped run the event including members of the Port Macquarie 4WD Club, who manned the check points, and a crew from the Kundabung Fire Brigade catered.
Organisers would like to thank the many businesses who sponsored the event.
Zone Six encompasses a large area, from the New England Highway to the Queensland border, south to Newcastle.
The next endurance ride will be staged at Wauchope in four weeks.
