The club’s fundraising coordinator Rick Thacker said that the nearly $8000 raised was made-up of contributions from club patrons, staff and directors.
“Charity boxes are located across all the club’s venues and the money was raised over a six month period,” Mr Thacker said.
Presenting the cheques at the ceremony was Kempsey Macleay RSL Club chairman Paul McGregor who was hopeful that the money would be of benefit to all recipients.
Recipients of the fundraising included:
- Kempsey West Public School
- Palliative Care Service Kempsey
- Kempsey Women's Refuge
- Kempsey Ladies Shed
- Kempsey Youth Refuge
- Kempsey District Hospital Maternity Ward
Since 2013, Kempsey Macleay RSL and Bowling and Sports Clubs have provided over $100,000 in funding support to the local community.
