Col was diagnosed with advanced cancer on December 19, 2016 and died on February 6, 2017.
The rapid onset of the disease and associated symptoms allowed no time for medical intervention. He was surrounded by family at their home outside of Bellingen.
Colin believed that teaching our youth the importance of equality and empowering them with science and reason, is a keystone of sustainable development and harmony in our world; and in partnership with Sue has shown us a better way forward.
The 3000 youth leaders and 43,000 program participants; the thousands of communities and hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries to date will stand as a lasting legacy and gift to us all.
Col will be cremated in a private ceremony followed by a public celebration of his life and achievements. The family has asked us to express their deep gratitude for the support they have received in these difficult times.
They have requested that flowers not be sent, but those wishing can contribute to ongoing OzGREEN programs or become a Global Seeder via the web site, to sustain the dream he helped found over thirty years ago.
To Colin Lennox, we say goodbye and thank you for making our world a better place. To Sue, we are here to help you, as you have helped us all these years.
- Colin’s public celebration of his life and achievements is on 3pm Thursday, February 16 at the Thora Community Hall, Waterfall Way, Thora. Please bring a plate of food, stories, photos, love to share. There will be online access via Adobe Connect for those who can't be physically present. No flowers please except from your own garden.
