Musician Josh is off to a flying start with the release of his new EP ‘VECTOR’, which includes five new original tracks of his.
Josh, who grew up in South West Rocks but now lives in Sydney, hopes the EP will act as “a major stepping stone” for his burgeoning career.
He said he had enjoyed the recording process associated with his latest effort.
“I recorded it at a studio in Sydney with producer Nathan Sheehy which was a really fun experience and I can’t wait to get another EP out soon after this one,” Josh said.
“It’s certainly the most effort that I’ve put into a project.”
Josh will play several gigs close to the Macleay as he unveils his new EP, the first of which will be at the Stag and Hunter in Newcastle on March 18.
This will be followed up by a homecoming performance at the Seabreeze Beach Hotel at South West Rocks on Sunday, March 19.
Although he still plays at home on occasion (he last performed at the South West Rocks Country Club in January), he agrees it’s always a special occasion.
“The Seabreeze was one of the first venues I ever played so I’m really looking forward to releasing this EP to a home crowd,” he said.
After that he’ll play in Nambucca and at the Scotts Head Festival before heading to Queensland for more gigs.
He’s hoping this year’s busy schedule will help push his career to the next level.
“This year I’m hoping to play on some bigger stages, we’ve got a lot of gigs booked,” he said.
Josh is optimistic that, with some more exposure, he'll be able to land a role as a support act sometime this year.
It points towards a busy, and thrilling, 2017 for Josh.
“It’s pretty exciting,” he said.
