Kempsey Golf Club: Stubbs is the big golf winner

Paul Stubbs was the big winner at the Kempsey Golf Club last Saturday in the 18 hole single Stableford event which attracted a good field of 68 players on the day. Stubbs had a outstanding day on the course when he recorded a round of 44 points to win the 'C' grade on the day. At the presentation club captain Ross did welcome visitors to the club from Frederickton & Wingham golf clubs and welcomed all the members to the day and thanked all the volunteers for there work on the course during the week. 

Taking out the top grade and winning for the second week in a row was our club champion Rick Nicholson with a round of 38 points and making it a double win in the 'B' grade was Kevin Hopping also for the 2nd time and with his round of 42 points will be checking his handicap this week. 

In the runner up spot in the 'A' grade it was Chris Kerr who did play in the same group as Nicholson with a score of 37 points on a count back. Chris Hudson was awarded the runner up prize in the 'B' grade on Saturday after his round of 38 points also on a count back, while in the 'C' grade Lauren Watts continues to improve her game and this week recorded a score of 42 for her runner up spot. 

The weekly ball competition saw players awarded a ball with a score of 34 points on a count back with 23 balls given out on the day and they can be collected from the pro shop. 

At the Macleay Valley Vet Service ntp's on the 3rd hole the winners were Ross Leopoldo 'A', Clem Cochrane 'B', Bob Marvin 'C'. At the club sponsored 8th hole the winners were Rick Nicholson 'A', Martin ( sumo ) Johnston 'B', Peter Herviel 'C'. The winners at the K&J Meats 11th hole on the day were Wayne ( birdseed ) Simmons 'B', Paul Stubbs 'C'. Winners of the Celebrations ntp's on the 16th hole were Nicholson 'A', Kevin Miller 'B', Pam Bruce 'L'. 

Tomorrow at the Kempsey Golf Club members and visitors will play in the 2017 Brendon Ashe 18 hole 2 person Ambrose event with the first players hitting off from 7am and with a two tee starting sheet. All players can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round. On the scoreboard roster for tomorrow will be the week 3 team of Tony May, Trevor Hannam and Glen Coughran. 

A reminder to all players involved in this years Harry Richardson Pennants that round 2 will be held on Saturday September 30th at the seaside course of Crescent Head. If any players wish to play please place your name on the sheet at the club or let Mike know so he can put you in the team.
