To help fund these significant improvement works, Council will be looking to source financial assistance via a number of state and federal grant funding programs that are available for infrastructure projects or cultural enhancement.
Grant funding programs are a competitive process, so it is vital that our submissions are strong and the projects identified will provide meaningful community benefits.
To assist with the application process, we want the community’s opinion on which projects are the most important and which will deliver the greatest benefits for our valley.
On council’s Your Say Macleay website, a brief on-line survey has been prepared to get your views on the 12 major projects identified in our Delivery Plan.
Scattered across our shire, there is a range of projects designed to improve key recreational reserves and playgrounds, sporting facilities and walkways, along with a library/community centre and public toilet upgrades.
The survey closes September 29. Visit yoursay.macleay.nsw.gov.au/priority
It was wonderful to see so many local residents visit council’s stand at the Kempsey Show to talk to staff about the projects and participate in the survey. People were also very interested in the special waste display and keen to learn more about recycling and how to properly dispose of household rubbish.
It was good to see the kids get so much fun from the Trash Puppets workshop, while learning about how we can all help the environment. Council’s reusable coffee cups were a great hit, and we plan to give away plenty more at future events.
It was also a great chance for me to catch up with local residents and have a chat about council issues, so thank you to all who came along.
