The third round of the 2017 Harry Richardson Pennants was held at the Kempsey Golf Club last Saturday with players coming from all four Macleay clubs for the competition. Taking out the top spot on the day was the host club with a total of 10 points from four wins and two draws. Next best was the defending champions from 2016 SWR on eight points and then Frederickton was next on six points while Crescent Head club were not able to record a point.

With three rounds now over the leader of the competition with a total of 23 points is the Frederickton club from SWR on 19 and then Kempsey on 17 and Crescent Head on 13. With the last round to be played at SWR on Saturday November 25 the competition is still wide open for any club to claim the 2017 title.
On Saturday the 2017 Millionaries Open 18 hole Medley 4bbbb Stableford and Individual event was held with 92 players hitting off on the day. After some very good weather during the week the course did play very good and the scores on the day were very good.
Taking out the day with a fantastic score of 50 points was the pairing of Wayne Simmons and Paul Hollis and they had a margin of 2 points over there nearest rivals on 48 points. With 3 groups recording the score of 48 the count back rule was applied and the group getting the runner up spot was Gary Brown and Bryn Davies.
The winner of the individual event on Saturday was Sue Woods (swr) with a score of 45 points and Sue will be checking her handicap before next week.
The winners of the Macleay Valley Vet Services ntp's at the 3rd hole were Graeme Croad 'A', John Daley 'B', Kevin Miller 'C' & Pam Bruce 'L'. The winners of the Celebrations ntp's on the 16th hole were Mike Brady 'A', Clem Cochrane 'B', Damon Green 'C' & Donna Farrer 'L'.
In the ball competition this week the winners were players with a score of 44 points on a count back in the 4 ball competition and they can be collected from the pro shop now.
Tomorrow at the Kempsey Golf Club is a very special day for the club with the staging of the 2017 Margaret and Michael Dyet Memorial golf day. Both were members of the club over a number of years and the Dyet family would like to invite all players to the day. On the day there will be lots of top prizes for both men and Ladies in the 18 hole single stroke event. Also on the day the club members will be playing for the monthly medals in each grade and also the playoff for the 2016-17 Gold Medals will be played for. Those in the play off are listed on the sheet at the club.
