Although the number of rubbers won looked close, with a 19-17 scoreline in favour of the Port Macquarie side, the reality was that Port dominated the contest in the top two grades.
Kempsey’s number three team performed very well but was never going to turn the tables and snatch an overall victory.
Port’s domination however was not easily won with Kempsey fighting until the very end.
With games normally played to 11 points, scores of 18-16, 16-14 and 14-12 indicate that there was concerted tenacity and focus shown by the Kempsey players.
Attention now turns to the Club’s A and B grade championships that will be determined this Thursday evening at the RSL Bowling Club in Austral Street.
