Kempsey Swimming Club president Peter Gambrill said the club was proud of their swimmer’s efforts.
“The whole club was impressed with those who placed in the age categories and all of our swimmers who competed,” Gambrill said.
“We had 30 representatives in total and they all did the club proud.”
The participants were vying for qualification to the 2017 Swimming North Coast Long Course Championships.
The official number of competitors who qualified for the next level of competition wasn’t released at the time of print.
Gambrill claimed the swim meet was a massive success with a record number of participants at a Kempsey Swimming Club carnival.
“It was an outstanding day, it went above and beyond our expectations,” Gambrill said.
“Everything ran smoothly, there were lots of happy swimmers and personal best times set.
“The friendly and hot rivalry made for a great competition with everyone competing in the right spirit.”
Nearly 160 competitors represented 17 different clubs at the carnival.
“We had swimmers travel from as far as Parkes, Tamworth, Dorrigo and Grafton,” Gambrill said.
The day ran smoothly and Gambrill expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the swimming meet.
“It’s not easy to host such a large carnival with a very busy race schedule, but it was executed by everyone at the club brilliantly,” Gambrill said.
Gambrill thanked Tony Hudson and his team for working hard to create perfect conditions at the pool for racing.
