The main race – the Kempsey Cup – commences at 5.15pm and Kempsey horse trainer Barry Ratcliff is hopeful he will mark his 30th consecutive entry into the most prestigious horse racing event in his hometown as a winner.

Race six – O’Donnell & Hanlon Class 3 Handicap (1400m)
It was a thrilling end to the sixth race of the day as Blinkin Artie and Morning Fare were neck and neck but it was Blinkin Artie who pulled ahead.
Third place went to Mere Eater.
Race five – Steve Keir Memorial – Benchmark 65 Handicap (1000m)
The fifth race of the day was claimed by Art’s Got A Gun.
Jack The Ringer finished in second position and Polskie Lady grabbed third.
Race four – Geoff Steinmetz Memorial Maiden Plate (1000m)
I am Twisted was first past the post to cause an upset in the fourth race of the Kempsey Cup.
The favourite One Invincible Cat finished in second position while Leiladane rounded out the places in third position.
Race three – Tabatinga at Kempsey RSL Class 3 Handicap (1900m)
The first tight finish of the day is claimed by Dr Kimble.
The horse pushed hard to narrowly defeated Backhouse Billy with Sworn In finishing in third place.
Dolphin Tale was a late scratching.
Race two – XXXX Gold Maiden Plate (1450m)
The second race is in the books and it was another clear winner with Rispetta breaking away from the pack.
Golden Words grabbed second and Beebeau was third.
Race one – Angove Family Winemakers 3-year-old Maiden plate (1250m)
It wasn't a contest - Tycoon Street was the clear winner of the opening race at the Kempesy Cup.
Billy Can finished in second position while Kyoko rounded out the placings in third place.
