The club’s secretary Andrew Trappel said it has been a great start to the season and all of the competitors are hopeful of making it to the next stage.

The participants are competing for qualification to the Regional event held in Tamworth on February 3 and 4 next year.

The kids in the age bracket of under seven to under 13 will compete in four events while the 13 to 17-year-olds will participate in six events each.

The Kempsey Little Athletics club has around 130 kids registered this year.

The club holds Little Athletics each friday from 4pm but there is also additional training this year held on every Monday and Thursday with the in house coach Wayne Brien who has improved the kids in all their events.
