Davis-Welsh’s dream debut included crossing for a try in the second half as the Jillaroos ran away with a 58-4 victory against the Cook Islands.
Davis-Welsh’s solid performance at fullback will put her in contention to play in Australia’s remaining group matches against England on Sunday and Canada next Wednesday.
The Jillaroos applied the pressure to the Cook Islands from the opening whistle and the end result was never in doubt.
The Australians took a 36-0 lead into the half-time break but lost focus in patches of the second 40-minutes.
