Nulla’s 53-run victory over Taree West in round six of the Premier League competition on Saturday has revived their season as they lifted themselves back into finals contention.

The win was built on the back of a tight bowling performance and a top score of 76 runs with the bat from Ben Read.
Nulla’s start was disastrous as batting opener Angus Crotty was dismissed for a duck but Daniel Pretty (26) and Read were able to build momentum for their side.
Nulla were batting under tough conditions with the pitch affected by the weather but they still managed to reach a defendable total of 167 before they were dismissed.
“Taree got to bowl on a damp pitch and bat on a dry one but we overcame that,” Nulla’s captain Ben Taylor said.
“It was a great partnership from Ben and Dan after another disappointing start on a damp pitch.
“Ben turned the game on its head and he hit their spinners out of the attack and put all the pressure back on them.”
Nulla’s bowling attack immediately put Taree on the backfoot as they grabbed early wickets.
Josh Meldrum (30) and Blake Polson (20) attempted to bat Taree back into the contest but Nulla were able to get crucial wickets to earn the win.
“We backed ourselves in the field and it worked,” Taylor said.
“Nick Clarke and Dan Morrison knocked over their top three but the tone was set by Oliver Hackenberg who took the new ball with his leg breaks before Morisson grabbed the crucial wicket of their captain.”
Nulla recorded their second win of the season without their strongest line up.
“We were without three key players so we’re looking to imrpve by welcoming them back in the coming weeks,” Taylor said.
Meanwhile Rovers suffered a tough defeat against Wingham.
Rovers were without four starting players and they weren’t able to chase Wingham’s total of 304.
Rovers managed 187 in response with Jared Baldwin (35) top-scoring while the young gun wicket keeper Jackson Korn continued his good form to add 29.
