Look out for electrifying Kempsey product Nakia Davis-Welsh in the Women’s World Cup Final on Saturday afternoon, to be broadcast on 7 mate from 4.15pm.
The game promises to be a physical encounter with the Jillaroos to meet the Kiwi ferns. Both sides have dominated opposing teams during the group stages.
Davis-Welsh has scored in all three of her test appearances during the World Cup. In the semi-final, she replaced injured first-choice fullback Sam Bremner and ran for a game high 202 metres including a brilliant solo try. With Bremner racing the clock to be fit for the final, coach Brad Donald has a tough selection decision ahead of him. If Bremner is fit, the versatile Davis-Welsh is expected to play on the wing or in the centres.
