Shae-ala Marchment and Frankie Supple represented their club with distinction, achieving personal best times and even gracing the podium.
It was a packed program for 13-year-old Shae-ala and she was equal to the task.
The middle distance ace rose to the occasion taking out the gold medal in the 200m backstroke, silver in the 200m IM and 400 IM, and bronze in the 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle.
Her winning time in the 200m backstroke of 2.43.59 just missed the qualifying time for the NSW Championships by 0.59. Determined to meet the qualifying standard she fronted up the following Monday for an official time trial and with her squad-mates urging her on smashed her previous best time to go 2.38.34.
The Argus congratulates Shae-ala for her wholehearted dedication and wishes her the best of luck when she takes on the State at Homebush on December 17.
It was a tougher task for cousin Frankie Supple at the North Coast meet. The 8-year-old performed exceptionally in the 9-years-and-under class.
Frankie swam a number of personal best times and the emerging breaststroke specialist was unofficially the second fastest 8-year-old in the 50m and third fastest in the 100m. Well done Frankie.
Crescent Head Pointers’ race secretary Renee Marchment said all involved with the club were proud of the girls for their outstanding efforts.
