Cheryl Dale from Mid Coast Rides Kempsey reports that along with the Silver Band, a special community carols night will be held at Kempsey Racecourse on Saturday, December 16.
This will be an “old fashioned night singing carols and being involved in a community get-together”, Cheryl said.
As well as camraderie and singing, there will be so much more.
On the food front, there will be a sausage sizzle, plus coffee and cold drinks. There will also be lollies, snow cones or pack a rug and some fold-up chairs and bring your own picnic to enjoy.
There will also be rides (purchase a $10 armband for unlimited rides) and stalls – and of course, Santa.
Entertainment will be provided in spades: The Kempsey District Silver Band - Macleay Choristers, and the Vogue Performing Arts Academy.
Plus there will be karate displays and even a flash mob surprise from the Vogue Performing Arts Academy.

And of course no carols night would be complete without glow sticks.
The event will from from 6.30 to 8.30, with a gold coin entry the only charge.
A free community bus will also be in operation – from South West Rocks, Crescent Head, Kundabung, Clybucca and the Kempsey area. Phone or text Mavis on 0407 965-862.
The gates at the racecourse will open from 6 o’clock.
The rides on the night will include a jumping castle, slide and tea cup. Finish up the night with a traditional carols sing-a-long.
BYO blankets and seats.
