The session will be led by Leesa Roach, the Community and Renal Dietitian for the Hastings Macleay Region of the Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD).
“Diet is one of the most important behavioural risk factors that can be improved to assist our health and wellbeing,” Ms Roach said.
“As people get older their lifestyles and appetite can change. A decrease in appetite or reduced ability to buy and prepare healthy foods can mean that many older people don’t get enough essential vitamins, mineral and fibre. This session will focus on the benefits of healthy nutrition, nutrient guidelines for the older population, optimising diet for improved health and wellbeing and special dietary considerations for the senior years.”
Please be aware that individual consultations will not be provided and information will be of a general nature.
The session will be held at Kempsey Shire Library on Wednesday, February 14 at 10.30am. To RSVP phone the library on 6566 3210 or send an e-mail to: kempsey.library@kempsey.nsw.gov.au
