The program, which involves boys and girls from as young as 10 to as old as 30, has developed players from a local cricket level to compete on the national stage.
There is currently 70 athletes training in the high performance cricket academy with 60 of those cricketers from the Macleay region.
“The focus of the academy is to develop their techniques and prepare them for playing at a higher level,” High Performance coach Callan McKiernan said.
Macleay Indoor Sports Cricket Coaching Academy athletes Harrison Nemme, Jye Woodger, Jarrod Prosper, Jackson Korn and Ben Pierce have all competed in Sydney’s top club competition for the U16 age group.
Nemme and Woodger played in the competition last season while the other three were too old.
Nemme is currently representing NSW All Schools at a carnival in Brisbane this week after earning selection at the Combined High Schools carnival late last year.
Nemme and the other four academy products credits their success to the work they’ve done with the Macleay Indoor Sports Cricket Coaching Academy.
“My game has gone to a whole new level since I started training here,” Nemme told the Argus.
“I am better physically, mentally and my technique is constanly improving.
“I wouldn’t be in the teams I am today without training at the academy.”
