Spencer won the regional finals at Tamworth in the 70m and 100m sprint on February 3 and 4.
The first place finishes will see Spencer take his talents to Sydney to compete against the fastest athletes in the state.
Spencer is very proud to represent his town of South West Rocks.
- Mark Plummer, Spencer's father.
The nine-year-old is no stranger to competing on the big stage, despite his young age.
The aspiring athlete finished in first place at the same distances at the zone event at Gloucester in November last year.
Spencer’s father Mark is very proud of his son’s achievements and is excited to watch Spencer test his talents against the best.
“Young Spencer loves to run and train,” Mark said.
“His other hobbies are AFL, Soccer and boxing training.
“Spencer is very proud to represent his town of South West Rocks against the fastest athletes from across New South Wales in his age group.
“He can’t wait to compete on a synthetic track.”
Spencer recently broke a long-standing record in the Macleay when he was representing South West Rocks Public School.
The student broke the 100m sprint record competing at last year’s Macleay District Carnival, finishing in a time just above 15 seconds.
Spencer’s victory has helped his preparations for other prestigious events as he has the confidence in his own ability.
Spencer is hopeful of earning another podium finish at the state finals and is excited to earn more experience of competing at a high level.
The South West Rocks Public School student plans to represent his school at the state level this year.
