Members of the public are encouraged to come along and watch the show. Visitors will also have the opportunity to inspect The Kempsey Flying Club’s general aviation aircraft which are housed in the club’s hanger. 

The model jets, which are quarter-sized model jets valued from $20,000 to $35,000, are replicas of life-sized fighter jets flying with airforces around the world.

A model of the Russian MIG 15 and the Australian RAAF Hornet fighter jets will feature in the show.

The model jets run on Jet A fuel and can reach speeds of up to 400km per hour whilst performing full aerobatic displays at low level. The jets are so sophisticated they must operate from an airport runway and only by qualified pilots with permission from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.

This Sunday, around 16 pilots will control their aircrafts from radios boasting 21 channels to fully cater for speed, retractable landing gear, flaps, engine smoke and brakes. 

Light refreshments will be made available at the flying club throughout the day.
