The Marlins are coming off a disappointing season where they struggled to compete, but the side has brought in two new coaches and recruited well to increase their confidence heading into the 2018 campaign.
The match this Saturday will be a strong indicator of the Marlins progress, three weeks out from the season commencing.
All three Bain Cup matches will be held at the Lank Bain Sporting Complex in Wauchope.
The day will kickoff with the Beechwood Shamrocks taking on the Long Flat Dragons at 2pm.
The second game is the Marlins and Blues at 2.45pm.
Before the day wraps up with the Lower Macleay Magpies up against the Comboyne Tigers at 3.30pm.
The Laurieton Stingrays have the bye and automatically advance.
