Motorists have been enjoying 18 kilometres of new four lane divided road bypassing Telegraph Point, since November last year.
Progressively opening this last five kilometre section means the 23 kilometre Oxley Highway to Kundabung project will have been upgraded to dual carriageway between Oxley Highway interchange and Barrys Creek.
Finishing work is being carried out to replace line marking and remove traffic barriers and signposting this section to the final speed limit of 110kph.
Temporary traffic arrangements are in place at the Yarrabee Rd interchange.
Motorists will use this temporary turning arrangement while the finishing work at the new interchange is carried out, which is expected to be completed a few days after the traffic switch, weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to follow the direction of traffic control and signs and keep to the reduced speed limits.
Lane closures will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists, which may affect travel times. Access to all affected properties, the general store and the memorial park area will still be available during this time.
Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
