Robert brings almost 18 years’ experience in Local Government and engineering project management to the position.
In his current role as Director of Engineering at Yass Valley Council, Robert is a member of the executive and responsible for many of the same service areas as his new Kempsey role including roads, bridges, waste, water and sewerage, parks and recreation and commercial assets.
Robert’s Operational Division at Kempsey Council will also include the Development Assessment and Planning section along with Strategic Land Use Planning.
Having worked at Port Macquarie-Hastings and Great Lakes Council’s for over a decade prior to going to Yass, Robert is no stranger to the Mid North Coast and is looking forward to his relocation back to the area.
“I’m thrilled to be appointed to the Director of Operations role and have the chance to bring my engineering management and major projects experience to Kempsey Council.
“This role will incorporate many of the areas I’ve previously managed but as a new executive in an organisation undergoing significant change it’s exciting to be part of Kempsey Council’s future,” Mr Fish said.
Robert is due to commence on 16 April in Kempsey and will be relocating with his wife.
In announcing the appointment to staff today, Council’s General Manager, Craig Milburn, thanked interim Director, Steven Beasley for his efforts in recent months.
“In a really short time Steven has made a great contribution to Council, particularly in working with staff to guide and reassure them through our organisational transformation program,” Mr Milburn said.
