Minerals, gemstones, fossils, faceting equipment, and jewellery featuring set stones will be on sale. There is 140 items, ranging in price from $5 to $100 plus depending on type, quality and rarity.
Club member Mary Lang said it’s an opportunity to see some unusual, rare and spectacular specimens, including a 400 million-year-old orthaceras fossil.
“It’s also a chance for interested people to talk to members and join the club,” she said.
“New members are always welcome. We take trips together looking for fossils and crystals. My husband and I wouldn’t know where to start on our own but the club offers support.”
Viewing starts at 9am and the auction gets underway at 10am. Tea, coffee and sandwiches will be available.
