The result was never in doubt as they headed into the final round at Woolgoolga with a comfortable lead.
Kempsey-Crescent Head finished on 788 points, winning eight of the nine rounds and finishing 114 points ahead of the second placed Woolgoolga.
However, the Kempsey-Crescent Head crews had plenty of motivation to perform as they were vying for individual places.
Despite the rough conditions, the club successfully completed their goal of the weekend as they had all of their crews finish on the podium.
The Masters 200s was the only crew to finish the season in top spot but the club had four seconds and a third.
The Open Women, Open Men, Under 19s and the Masters 160s finished in second position while the reserves crew had a terrific day on the water to jump from fifth position into equal third.
The conditions forced all competitors to wear helmets.
“There was a strong current and it made it tricky and there was a couple of collisions,” Kempsey-Crescent Head Surf Boat Club Captain Scott Edwards said.
“It was a great day for the club though as all of our crews secured a spot on the podium.”
The curtains have closed on the season for the club as they won’t be attending the Australian Titles as they’re held in Perth this year.
However, Edwards claims the crews are already excited at the prospect of competing at the Aussies on the Gold Coast next year.
The club has recently placed a deposit on a new surf boat to compete in next season and they’re looking for sponsors to be placed on the boat.
Edwards said the successful season the club has is built on the back of the commitment from the crews.
“A huge thanks goes to all our rowers and the dedication they have shown to training and competition throughout the year,” Edwards said.
The North Coast Surf Boat Series 2018-19 season will commence later this year.
