The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a flood warning for Kempsey to reach minor flood level on Friday afternoon.
Roads affected by flooding
- Bellbrook, Toorooka, Temagog, Turners Flat and Sherwood Bridges are all closed.
- Dungay Creek causeway is closed.
- Gladstone Street, West Kempsey railway underpass is closed.
- Queen Street, South Kempsey was closed yesterday – current status unknown
- Wide Street, West Kempsey is closed
- Saleyards Road, North Kempsey is closed
- Euroka Road/Theresa Street at Euroka are closed
- Crescent Head Road at Rudders Lagoon was closed at 6pm yesterday and remains closed. Level is falling so will be reviewed at 7am
- Loftus Road is open
There may be water over or adjacent to other roads – proceed with caution
River levels
- Georges Creek – 2.12m at 4.00am – rising
- Bellbrook – 3.31m at 5.44am – appears to have peaked but could rise further
- Toorooka – 4.95m at 5.32am - rising
- Turners Flat – 4.93m at 5.00am – rising
- Sherwood Bridge – 4.76m at 5.41am - rising
- Kempsey Traffic Bridge – 2.35m at 5.44am – rising
Flood gates on Kinchela Creek, Belmore River, Euroka Creek and Christmas Creek are being closed
Flood relief gates at Kinchela Creek and Belmore River are being closed
