The Riverside Kitchen at the Stuarts Point Workers Club has received deserved recognition for their fantastic quality of food.

The Riverside Kitchen won the Readers’ Choice Award in the Australian Good Food Guide in the Asian food section.

The award was presented to the Riverside Kitchen as they received the most votes in the Asian food section in NSW.

Riverside Kitchen chef Shelia Siu is extremely proud of the recognition her team and restaurant has received.

“It came as a real surprise but it’s amazing to be in a small country town and still receive enough attention to win the award,” Ms Siu told the Argus.

The club is very lucky to have Shelia, she’s been here for two years and is a real asset to the club.

“It is a good reward for the hard work we are doing and hopefully it encourages more people to come and try our delicious food.”

The Riverside Kitchen is well known for its famous garlic chilli pork with vegetables that is made with a homemade sauce and for its mouthwatering dessert, the deep fried ice cream mars bar.

Stuarts Point Workers Club secretary manager Gary Lewis is glad the club has a chef of Ms Siu’s quality in the kitchen.

“The club is very lucky to have Shelia, she’s been here for two years and is a real asset to the club,” Mr Lewis said.

“Everyone enjoys their meal when they come here to eat, the smorgasbord in particular is a real crowd pleaser.

“People travel from all areas of the Macleay, Nambucca and Macksville to eat here.”

It isn’t the first time one of Ms Siu’s restaurants has received an award as she was voted the most popular restaurant, cafe or catering service at the 2015 Macleay Business Awards.

Ms Siu prides herself on being able to cater for everyone’s food desires and that’s why her menu includes western foods.

“We aren’t just a Chinese or Thai restaurant,” Ms Siu said.

“I want everyone to be happy when they visit the club and my restaurant, we have all types of Asian and western food available.”

The Riverside Kitchen is open Tuesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner at the Stuarts Point Workers’ Club.
