The South West Rocks Marlins have suffered their second straight defeat to start the Hastings League season, but the side continues to fight until the final whistle.
The two-time defending champions the Kendall Blues were too good for the Marlins in the early stages of the clash and ran away to a 54-22 victory.
However, the Marlins lifted in the second period to win the final 40-minutes of the game.
The Blues scored nine tries against the Marlins on Saturday and all of the four-pointers were converted.
The Marlins had limited opportunities in the first half but they maintained more possession in the second period.
The Marlins looked slick in attack and crossed for three second half tries to reduce the deficit and build momentum ahead of their round three clash.
