Nail-biting finish set to take place

The third round of the Women’s Golf NSW competition was held on May 2 and 3.

Nell Campling is on top of the leader board winning two out of three events so far. Pam Bruce is hot on her tail, coming in as runner up and Gross winner. With two rounds to go, this event will be a nail biter.

Sharron McNamara, Jennie Preston and Nancy McNamara represented our club at the WGCNC Seniors tournament in Sawtell last Tuesday and Wednesday with some noteworthy scores. It is great to see our club being represented at other open days and events. Sharron McNamara and Wendy Rogan will travel to Wauchope this Friday to play in their annual open day.

We have been happy to welcome June Banks from Mollymook Golf Club in our last two Wednesday competitions. June was holidaying at Crescent Head and joined us on May 2 She came in as runner up in division two, just behind Sally-Ann Hyland, nearest the pin on the 8th and won the weekly raffle! Of course she came back the next week for another round before returning to the south coast.

Our Pennants team will play another round at Coffs Harbour on Monday May 21. With two winning rounds under their belt, they are hoping to continue their fine form. We wish our team of Jennie Preston, Pam Bruce, Nancy McNamara and Nell Campling all the best.

Last week a single stableford event was played. Nell Campling continued her winning form with a round of 33, followed by Pauline Ransfield with an admirable score of 31. Robin Taylor was nearest the pin on the 3rd hole.

This week’s stroke event is sponsored by Cassie Black and Ariane Brose, the second Brose and Black Trophy. Feel free to drop in and join the ladies for a light-hearted game.
