The re-energised Macleay District Club crossed the range in force with 21 riders, who competed in all events.
Kristian O’Donnell was the club’s big points earner with three first places and a third from the four classes he competed in.
Jayden Holder was the big winner in the juniors as he won his 65cc Class.
For our senior riders it was Sam Davies, James Chapman and Brad Osborne who shone for the club.
The club finished the round in second position and is quietly confident going into round two of the competition held at Taree.
The club is looking forward to hosting round three at the Greenhill Speedway in November.
Club president Trent O’Donnell couldn’t be prouder of his club’s efforts and their current position.
“It’s hugely satisfying to see the progress our club has made over the last 12 months,” O’Donnell said.
“The club is starting to show improvement in our rider participation numbers and in their personal results at all levels of race meetings.
“We have worked hard to rebuild the social aspects of the club, provide a family friendly environment and to foster and encourage the newest members to the club.
“The results of the work we have done in this area is particularly evident in the 50cc Demo class, where we have had huge influx of new members.”
The club looks forward to hosting round four of the Dirt Track Club Championship on August 12 and the club’s largest event the Akubra Classic presented by Akubra Hats and DGI Trading on August 25 and 26.
The club is also working tireless to revive Speedway and Grass track racing on the Macleay with the speedway track scheduled to be complete by the end of next week and the Grass Track Development Application for “The Ponds” circuit scheduled for determination by KSC at the next council meeting.
If you’re interested in getting started with motorcycle racing the club routinely holds kickstart Coaching days which is the first step for all junior riders as they enter the sport.
