The toiletry drive is organised by the volunteer group Doing it for our Farmers who aim to raise awareness and support Australian farmers who are experiencing drought.
Kempsey Stock & Land has received overwhelming support from the community towards the toiletry drive.
A number of businesses and groups from the area have donated, including the Kempsey Bird Club, Kempsey Macleay Pensioners Club, Raymonds Pharmacy Kempsey, Kempsey West Pharmacy, Coastline Credin Union, Macleay Quilters Club, Port Smiles Dental and many more.
As well as businesses getting behind the donation drive, many locals have also donated any toiletries they can spare, including Mr and Mrs Van Der Veer who this morning donated $700 to be used towards purchasing feed for cattle.

Samantha Hughes from Kempsey Stock & Land said they have been overwhelmed with the response from the community.
“It’s great to see more people becoming aware of the drought out west and showing their support for the farmers,” Ms Hughes said.
All of the toiletries collected from the Kempsey donation point are then sent to Belltrees Public School near Scone where it is distributed to local families within the Upper Hunter region.
Farmers are not the only ones experiencing the effects of drought out west with many businesses becoming effected as well.
Doing it for our Farmers is also handing out pre-paid visa and fuel cards to farmers to use at their local stores, lessening the loss of income for rural businesses and allowing them to stay in business.
The response in the Macleay has been immense and Ms Hughes said they will keep the donation point open for as long as needed.
“It’s been overwhelming, the response from the community. I didn’t think we would get this many donations, and now we’re onto our fourth trailer load,” Ms Hughes said.
Kempsey Stock & Land thanks all the businesses and locals who have donated so far.
The toiletry drive in Kempsey will remain open until it’s no longer needed. Anyone can donate any new and unopened toiletries to Kempsey Stock & Land at 1/44 Forth St Kempsey.
