The 2018 South St Muffles 18 hole Single Stroke event for the Monthly Medals in each grade for the month of August was held last Saturday at the Kempsey Golf Club with a good field of 71 players hitting off from 7am on the day. Also in the field were visitors from Tuggerah Lakes, SWR and along with the members a big thank you goes to Ross and his team for supporting the day.

Taking out the top grade prize for the best net score was Les Greenup from SWR with a net score of 69 from the runner up player on the day and the best local for the medal was Dean Greenhalgh with a net 70. In the ‘B’ grade on Saturday the winner with a net score of 69 on a count back was Kevin Hopping as the medal winner and the runner up spot went to Craig Dickinson who also had a net 69.
Junior Carlin Dunbar-Rudd continues to improve his game and this week won the ‘C’ grade medal with his net score of 69 and he also won the best junior net on the day. With a net 72 the runner up was Barry Pearson. Taking out the ntp’s at the 3rd hole on the day were Rick Nicholson ‘A’, John Daley ‘B’, Wayne Huntley ‘C’, Jenny Preston ‘L’. At the 8th hole the winners were Daryl Hagger ‘A’, Craig Dickinson ‘B’. The winners of the 11th hole were Dean Greenhalgh ‘A’, Chris Gorman ‘B’, Murray Addison ‘C’, Jenny Preston ‘L’. At the tough 16th hole the winners were on the day Doug Cheetham ‘A’, Donna Farmer ‘L’.
Tomorrow at the club is another very special day when the members will remember another former member in Ray Metcalfe. The day will be a 18 hole 2 person Ambrose event which will be supported by Phil & Mitch Starr who were great mates of Ray. Everyone is welcome to play and you can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round. On the weekly scoreboard roster tomorrow will be the week 2 team of Chris Hudson and Robert Johnston. The club is looking for helpers for the scoreboard roster on Saturday, so if you think you can help out please notify the club or club captain Ross.
The first round of the 2018 Harry Richardson Pennants will be held on Saturday August 25th at the Crescent Head club and the club is now looking for players to be part of this event. Anyone interested in playing can place your name on the sheet at the club.
For those players who are left in the semifinals of the 2018 4ball KO you must have your matches completed by Saturday August 25th. The draw is up at the club.
