Saints cement finals spot with draw | Photo

The Kempsey Saints will return to finals football in the Premier League this season after playing out a nil-all draw with the Taree Wildcats on Saturday.

The two sides are on equal competition points but Saints sit ahead in fourth placed with a better goal differential.

There’s one round remaining in the regular season and Saints can’t drop lower than fifth place as the Wildcats face off with the sixth-placed Camden Haven redbacks this weekend.

Therefore, the Saints can only be overtaken by one of the sides.

While Saints can’t move into third position as Port United are nine points ahead of them, they still have plenty of motivation heading into their match with rivals the Macleay Valley Rangers this Saturday.

A win will lock up a home semi-final, in an elimination match, for the club.
