The Macleay Valley Rangers may have suffered their third defeat of the season but coach Keith Morn was stoked with his side’s performance.

In the 1-0 loss against Wallis Lake, Rangers returned to their best and produced their best performance in months.
“You could see the side start to drop off halfway through the season, our intensity wasn’t there,” Morn said.
“But we were back to our best on Saturday and I was very happy with the way we played, despite losing.”
Morn believes his side deserved to win the game.
“We were the better team, we controlled possession and passed the ball around well for the whole game,” Morn said.
“We restricted them to long balls and they didn’t have any clear chances.”
The Rangers created quality chances throughout the game but were unable to capitalise.
It came back to haunt them in the final stages of the game as Wallis Lake scored off a corner with three minutes remaining in the contest.
Rangers failed to clear the set piece and Wallis Lake controversially headed the ball into the back of the net to earn the win.
The loss ends the minor premiership race as Wallis Lake have claimed top spot while the Rangers are locked into second place with one round remaining.
Rangers face Kempsey Saints this Saturday.
