The fresh program will see a series of art classes run over four days at the BIG4 Sunshine Resort.
The workshops will be hosted by some leading names, including celebrated local artist Gordon Rossiter.
The program will run from Monday to Thursday, September 3-6, from 9am to 4.30pm each day.
About the artists:
John Wilson: Masterclass – Australian Landscape in Oils
Like Streeton, Roberts, Gruner, Johnson and other great Australian artists, learn the secrets of how to paint beautiful and exciting landscapes. This workshop is for keen artists with some experience who have mastered the basics and wish to move to higher levels. The course will cover tone, temperature, colour mixing, composition, atmosphere, reflected lights, reflections and other subtleties unique to our Australian landscape.
The workshop will begin with a short theory session, followed by step by step demonstrations of each painting. Emphasis will be to attain the extra step to achieve a higher level of skill and competence in all areas especially in understanding the Australian landscape and learning to see. Please bring all your painting gear and as many questions as you wish to ask.
Gordon Rossiter: Paint the Rocks
Gordon will paint and instruct step by step using a method that has seen many artists participate successfully with his tutoring. Students will be encouraged to develop in their own style. Above all, the workshop will encourage an appreciation of nature and an enjoyment of painting. Participants will most likely paint three paintings in South West Rocks in the four days.
Robert Lovett: Watercolour, Simple & Loose
Robert will deal with the most common problem encountered by watercolourists. Even advanced students struggle with simplification and directness.
If you are a beginner what a great way to start by developing good techniques from the beginning.
