Sinead, 20, formerly of King Creek, died tragically in Greece after an incident where she was found in a critical condition on the mega-yacht the Mayan Queen IV on August 31.

It has been suggested Ms McNamara was found entangled in a rope off the back of the boat and despite the efforts of crew onboard, was unable to be resuscitated while enroute to Hygeia hospital in Athens. She died hours later during a transfer to a larger facility.

Ms McNamara was working as part of the crew on the six-storey yacht in Argostoli off the Greek island of Kefalonia. 

Her family travelled to Greece to assist authorities with the investigation and to piece together the final moments of their daughter’s life.

The family’s lawyer, Charalampos Triantafyllopoulos, released a statement suggesting Ms McNamara made a distressing phone call to her family after an incident involving another crew member.

Despite their concerns about Ms McNamara's last hours, Mr Triantafyllopoulos said the family trusted the Greek authorities to do a thorough job of the investigation. While inquiries into her death have not officially been finalised, a source close to the investigation told Fairfax Media all indications showed there were no suspicious circumstances.

Her funeral will be held at the Innes Gardens Memorial Park Crematorium on Philip Charley Drive, Port Macquarie from 10am.

The daughter of Kylie and Shaun, sister of Jake and Lauren and grand-daughter of Shirley McNamara and Shirley Waller, Ms McNamara is also fondly remembered by her friends from St Josephs Regional College where she attended during her junior schooling years.

She arrived in Greece in mid-June this year after travelling to Bali, Alaska and the Whitsundays.

She had been working on the yacht during the northern summer and regularly shared scenic photos with her 14,000 Instagram followers.

She is a 2016 graduate of the Northern Beaches Secondary College Freshwater Senior Campus in Sydney.
