“Adam and I first got together on July 14, 2010,” Mrs Katie-Lee Whalen said.
Then seven years later on the same special date, Adam got down on one knee and proposed to his one and only. Needless to say, July 14 has become a very special date in the couple’s lives.
Of the proposal, Katie-Lee said “it was a beautiful night and one I will never forget.”
“We were looking out over the entire Gold Coast and everything aligned perfectly!
“I am so lucky to have this man in my life and now to call him my husband,” she said.
But it hasn’t always been so perfect for the loving couple who have stayed together, for better or worse, through Katie-Lee’s journey with cancer.
“High school and the following years were extremely hard for us due to constant cancer check ups and not knowing our future.
“Although this constantly weighed me down, Adam stuck around and was constantly my rock and the light in my life. He is the greatest person and has such an amazing heart,” Katie-Lee said.
“Our wedding day was perfect!
“The weather, the dress, the guests and most importantly our families all were amazing.
“We cannot thank our families enough as without them, their care, love and inspiration we wouldn’t be the people we are today.
“Our lives couldn’t be better and we are so blessed and lucky to be living life together.”
