The annual Livin Charity Ball was held on Saturday night and locals raised over $30,000 for the charity that aims to break down the stigma surrounding mental health.

The event spreads the message ‘it ain’t weak to speak’ and was a huge success, organiser and Livin Team Member Tony Duncan said.
“It’s just magic, the overwhelming support from the community for this cause,” he said.
“We had our core group of people who have been coming for the last few years, but there was also a new group of people getting involved with the charity.”
The money raised from the night will go towards programs to be introduced to schools aimed at raising awareness of mental health.
The ball was sold out and Mr Duncan said the communities interest and support is what makes the event so successful.
“It’s very satisfying to see how many people want to get involved,” he said.
“It’s all about breaking down the stigma around mental health and the more people we can reach out to and the more people involved, the better.”
“I’d just like to thank everyone involved with the night. And thank you to the community, if it wasn’t for them and their support, it wouldn’t be possible.”
