The alert came less than an hour after a 2.3m long Great White was spotted by aerial surveillance at Queen’s Head Beach, south of Point Plomer.
It is unknown if it is the same shark.
The Crescent Head Surf Life Saving Club was approached for comment.
The Great White alert at Crescent Head is the 21st recorded sighting of a shark between Point Plomer and South West Rocks since October 4 and today (October 9) by the Dorsal Shark Reports app.
It’s likely the majority of the sightings have been of the same Great White shark which has been cruising up and down the Macleay coastline.
A Great White shark was spotted close to the beach at Hat Head last Thursday.
