Undeterred by the bad weather, keen festival goers have begun arriving in droves from every state and territory in Australia, and even some from overseas.
Lots of first-time fans are mixed in with the mainstays, but they are all keen to experience the good vibes of the festival and have a good yarn.
The first event was held way back in 2004, on the property of Kempsey local Bruce Woods.
Mr Woods conceived of the idea to celebrate Slim's life on the first anniversary of his passing with an evening of country music.
From these humble beginnings, each subsequent event has grown in size and scope each year.
Speaking to the Argus, Mr Woods commented on how the massive festival is “One of those great things that has grown from a fun night.”
A great line up of country music artists is set to perform this year, including three generations of the golden guitar winning Dallas family, who play Saturday night.
