The exhibition was officially opened yesterday and will feature in the library until November 16.
Mid North Coast photographer Julie Slavin was at the launch and said while photographing for the exhibition, she was looking for a diverse range of people.
“I feel very fortunate to be involved in this exhibition. The best part was meeting and talking with the subjects,” she said.
“I was looking for a diverse range of interesting people to photograph.”
Ms Slavin has six of her photos featured in the exhibition, along with the work of four other photographers from NSW.
“The exhibition is about showing how different people deal with ageing and how they keep active both in their mind and physically.”
The photographic exhibition was featured in Parliament House in Sydney from March 14 to 28 this year and is now travelling throughout NSW.
Ms Lucas said having the exhibition here in the Macleay is a special event for her.
“I think it’s great for locals to come and see the exhibition, all of the photos are really wonderful,” she said.
Ms Lucas is a long-time member of the South West Rocks Country Club and the author of Roaming and Rootless, an autobiography narrating her life, including her childhood in India, her life in Britain and in Australia.
“I just want people to know that you’re never too old to do things,” Ms Lucas said.
The exhibition will be on show at Kempsey Shire Library until November 16 before travelling to 21 locations throughout regional NSW.
