Zip A Dee Doo Dah has claimed the 2018 Akubra Kempsey Cup!
Try ‘n’ Run A Much finished in second position while Sniponet finished in third place.
Race six:
Number four Argie Bargie has bested a strong field in the sixth race of the day. Splash of Lime finished in second position and Syrah rounded out the places in third spot.
Race five:
Number three Golden Comet has bested favourite He’s Our Toy Boy, who finished in second position. Number four Typhoon Bonny finished in third spot.
Race four:
A strong run from number seven Trefranian saw him take the lead with 400m to go and hold off a fast finishing Sweet Art to secure the victory. Classicman finished in third position.
Race three:
Number seven Charging Clear has claimed the third race of the day, besting second placed number nine Mary Magpies while number one Anakyn Daraxes rounded out the placings.
Race two:
Kempsey horse trainer Barry Ratcliff was seen celebrating as his horse First Time Lucky was first past the post in race two.
First Time Lucky entered the race as the favourite and stormed home on the straight to prove why.
Second place was number 4 Sunny Afternoon followed by number 7 So Good to me.
Race one:
The favourite of race one Mina Harker was a late scratching and it left the door open for So You Merge to claim victory.
Winner’s Lane, who led from the outset, was pipped on the line and forced to settle for second.
Meanwhile So You Merge finished in third position.
