Zip A Dee Doo Dah has ran a near-perfect race to claim the 2018 Akubra Kempsey Cup in front of a packed and vocal crowd.

The horse, which has ran 17 of its 19 starts in Singapore, stormed home on the straight to take the lead in the last 50m and hold on for victory by the length of its neck.
Zip A Dee Doo Dah forman Chris Hull said the race went according to plan.
“That’s exactly how we wanted it to pan out, we know Zip A Dee Doo Dah finishes strong,” Hull told the Argus.
The favourite Try ‘N’ Run A Muck finished in second position while Sniponet rounded out the places in third.

Kempsey Race Club president John Graham was overwhelmed with the size of the crowd.
“I can’t stress enough about how great the Macleay people are and how much support they show for the Kempsey Cup,” Graham said.
“Today is the biggest crowd I have seen in my 41 years of attending the Kempsey Cup.
“The amount of people who attend help make the day what it is, they were all enjoying themselves and in great spirits.”
Graham expressed his gratitude to the people who generously support the Kempsey Cup.
