Initiated by the Department of Education, this forum aimed to put families in touch with the providers who would be able to help them gain extra support for their children. 

NDIS Administrator for the Depart of Education Rowan Coombes claims it’s important to connect families with service providers.

"It is opportunities like these that put our families in touch with all of the service providers, making it easy for our families to find the help they need for their children," Mr Coombes said.

Kempsey South Public School principal Andrew Kuchling said the journey has begun to help parents in the Macleay who have disabled children.

“It can be tricky for busy parents to know where to go with this new and often complex system,” Mr  Kuchling said.

“Today we have started on the journey of helping at least twenty different families from across the Macleay to be included in NDIS and gain immediate help. Just having twenty-eight different providers in the one place specifically to help parents is a great help."
