The spin bowler tore his calf while fielding and the extend of the injury will be revealed after scans later this week.
Nulla weren’t at full strength but Taylor claims the side had no excuse for their poor batting, which led to them posting a total of 105 after they were bowled out in the 30th over.
“It was a disappointing loss, Wingham are a good team but I feel we got ourselves out,” Taylor told the Argus.
“Five out of the top six were out caught in front of the wicket so I don’t think the pitch played any part really.
“You don’t win many games when that happens. We were without some key top order players but we should have posted a much better total regardless.”
Despite setting a low score for Wingham to chase, Nulla’s bowling attack and superb fielding gave them a chance at a shock victory.
“The team did show some really good spirit and resilience in the field though,” Taylor said.
“At one point we had them 5/60 and the game was in the balance.”
Unfortunately for Nulla, Wingham were able to steady the ship and surpass the total at the completion of the 15th over.
Taylor has declared the next four rounds are crucial before the competition takes a six week break for the second half of December and January.
“The run into Christmas is really important now and it’s up to the boys to step up and get some good results,” Taylor said.
