The Macleay could see some red skies this afternoon when the massive dust storm currently darkening airspace around parts of regional NSW and Sydney’s outskirts could drift into the region.

Its unclear at this point if we will experience the full effects of the weather event, however, speculation is beginning to mount as we wait to see if we will be blanketed along with the major cities.
The storm is reported to stretch at least 500km and has prompted the state government to issue an air quality warning to the already affected areas. They have also advised anyone with respiratory illnesses such as Asthma to stay inside until the weather event passes over.
While dust storms like this are rare in the region, the lack of significant rainfall in the last few weeks and the high winds that are expected later this afternoon could create the perfect conditions for the storm.
