South West Rocks’ Finn Askew can tick another goal off his list as he has earned selection into the NSW Country Trans-Tasman and the NSW Country Interstate Teams.

The prestigious honours will see Finn test his talents against the best in Australia and New Zealand at two Surf Life Saving Carnivals.
Finn will compete in the Under-17s when he faces off with the best from the state and New Zealand while he will step up into the Under-19 (Youth Division) when he represents the NSW Country Interstate Team.
The 17-year-old was honoured when he earned selection and credits the hard work he puts into training for his success.
However, Finn isn’t content with just earning selection, the St Paul’s College student is hoping to leave his mark on the rest of the competition.
“I want to leave with a few medals, it’s going to be hard but I think I am capable of it,” Finn said.
“I haven’t competed at this level before so it’s hard to predict what it will be like but I have confidence in my ability and I know how hard I train.
“I was pretty stoked when I found out I made the team but I still want to achieve more.”
Finn is currently training six days a week and has two sessions a day.
Finn will compete in a range of events which include beach run, swim, board and other events which require high intensity.
Finn will join his NSW Country teammates in early January.
The competition is held on the Central Coast.
