Rovers, who earned their second win of the season, batted first and set a total of 161 with Jack Bennett (53) and Korn (unbeaten 39) combining for the majority of the damage.
Korn, who has handed the wicketkeeper gloves to his younger brother Mitch this season, backed up his batting effort with the ball as he picked up four wickets to aid in restricting Macquarie to 137 off their 40 overs.
Harry Nemme and Luke Fuller also chipped in grabbing a pair of wickets each.
Bowler Matt Scott was stoked as the side picked up a very important win.
“We were happy with our batting performance, we batted our 40 overs again which is pleasing,” Scott said.
“Jack Bennett batted really well and showed great patience as he didn’t try and force anything.
“Jackson Korn came in at the end and took their bowling attack apart.”
Rovers were able to earn a great start with the ball as they dismissed Macquarie’s dangermen cheaply.
“We started well with the ball, got two of their key batters out for ducks which gave us a lot of confidence,” Scott said.
“I don’t think there would have been too many people around that would have wanted to face Harry Nemme on Saturday.”
“We had them 3/19. We let them get away from us at a couple of points but we just stuck to our plan and forced them into some silly shots. We took all our catches and fielded really well.”
Scott is hopeful his teammates will take a lot of confidence out of the victory and further build momentum heading into the second half of the season with a win against the Port Macquarie Pirates, who sit in second position, this Saturday.
“We want to go out and beat the Pirates this weekend. They are coming off a loss, so hopefully they will be low on confidence and we can capitalise on that,” Scott said.
“But we know they are a very talented young team with a lot to prove so we will not be taking them lightly.”
