The 2018 Kempsey Open Day was proudly sponsored by Macleay Valley Travel last Saturday and saw a good field of 77 players hit off in the 18 hole Single Stableford event. With the members on Saturday were visitors from Frederickton, SWR, Howlong, Bowraville, Coffs Harbour and Nambucca Heads Golf clubs. A big thank you goes to Bryn for your support on the day and to all the volunteers who were on the course during the week getting the course ready for the big event.

The stand out highlight of the day was the very first hole in one by Todd Watts at the par 3, 3rd hole. Todd collected himself the jackpot prize which was on offer from Celebrations of West Kempsey. Well done Todd from everyone at the club and all the team at Celebrations.
The winner of the gross event on Saturday was Ross Leopold, while the overall net winner with a round of 45 points was John Baker from the Howlong club. I’m sure John will be checking his handicap when he returns to the Howlong club for his next game.
